Will the Leaves Please Pause?

I’ve been wanting to get out and take a bunch of photos of the leaves in all of their glorious fall color, but it’s not really happened.  I mean, a little bit, as you’ll see, but not much.

Either the weather hasn’t cooperated or my schedule hasn’t cooperated or time got away from me.  All I know is that it’s later than mid-October and the leaves are dropping at an alarming rate.  Therefore, I have a simple request for the leaves: please pause.  I might be able to get to you on Saturday morning, but I’m not completely certain.  I’m busy Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon.  Ideally, you would hold yourselves together until Halloween.  That would be great.  Then I could get out amongst you and crunch upon your less-patient friends who have already fallen to the ground.  Plus, the longer you remain attached to your host the longer I can eat pumpkin stuff.  But, once you fall I feel compelled to move on to eggnog.  I am not quite ready for eggnog (though I saw it in the store last weekend and may have drooled a bit).  So, hang with me…just a little longer.

      1. Leaves look so much better in sunlight and as for rain, it’s hard to hold a camera in one hand and an umbrella in the other. Then there’s what the damp weather does to my hair. Oh well – I’ll just wait for a sunny day.

    1. There are some who say that we don’t really have seasons here in Western Washington because it’s wet and mild much of the year. I beg to differ. That being said, we had a very dry summer and leaves began crumpling and dropping before coming to their full glory this fall. I will check out your site!
